Chefchaouen, often known as the blue city, was founded in 1471 on the foundation of a Berber colony by Muslims and Jews from Al-Andalus. For centuries, it has been closed to strangers since it is considered a sacred city, and it preserves a sense of mystique because it has stayed essentially unaltered architecturally since the 15th century.
From Ouata El Hammam square to the emblematic source of Ras El Ma, crossing the Jewish quarter, the Mellah or visiting the Kasbah, Chefchaouen offers the possibility of training us in a world that seems frozen far from modern times and from their stressful pace.
Not far from the city is Talassemtane Park, known for the Akchour waterfalls
and the Pont de Dieu, an irresistible option for hikers. On a cultural level, the city is known for hosting the Alegria festival which is held every year in July. It pays tribute to cultural diversity through music.
